Congratulations! You have decided you wish to be married in church. If you are considering whether to have your wedding in one of the Benefice churches. you must first consider the three basic criteria for marriage in a Church of England church: you need to match at least one of the following criteria:

  • Have you lived in the parish for at least 6 months?

  • Were you baptised or confirmed in the parish church?

  • Have you regularly attended the church for at least 6 months?

If you don’t match any of the three criteria and want to be married in one of the Benefice churches, please contact Rev’d Julie and she will be able to advise you on what you will need to do in order to be married at one of the three churches.

A frequently asked question is ‘how many people does the church hold?’ The answer is : St Paul’s 120-150, St Nicholas’ 100 and St Thomas’ 180. These figures apply for when there are no Covid restrictions. Until all restrictions have been lifted, only 15 people are allowed . After 17 May, the figure increases to 30.
